ABOUT THIS PRODUCT

Description

Carniolan Bees are a hardy, longer producing, time intensive bee. They are dark in color with broad gray band. Hailing from middle Europe, these queen bees start producing early, and due to this Carniolan bees have increased population growth. They are generally less aggressive and easy to work around, and they have a smaller chance of robbing other colonies of their honey. This reduces the chances of contracting and spreading disease. They are well suited to colder climates, doing well where other breeds would not.

These bees produce a waxy comb and a great honey. However, they do require paying close attention to them. If overcrowding occurs, they are more likely to swarm in order to relieve pressure in the hive. Since they begin producing earlier than other breeds, it is important to make sure to stay on top of adding supers. All things considered, if you are willing to put in the time management, these bees will reward you will a lot of great honey.

Please note: Full payment is due when you place your bee order.

Orders cannot be canceled or refunded after March 19, 2019. These bees are for in-store pickup only. Bees will be delivered to our stores April/May 2019. You will be contacted 24 hours in advance of their arrival in your chosen store. Stay tuned for periodic email updates.
