You simply buckle the straps at each corner and adjust them to allow the tautness that you prefer. Since there are two layers, the lower level has 4 built in beverage holders so you don't have to worry about your drinks getting knocked over. And when it's time to head home, unlatch the buckles, and slide the table into the included carry bag and you're all set for your next outing.
